Photosynthesis

What is photosynthesis? I will give you a hint. It has nothing to do with photography.

Photosynthesis is a process that occurs in most plants, and some bacteria. It is a process that uses carbon dioxide and water to make food (sugar) for a plant or some bacteria. We can write this overall process like this:

If there was not enough photosynthesis, plants would not be able to take in as much CO2 and if there was too much carbon dioxide in our atmosphere, we could not live on earth.See full size image

The sun also plays a very important part in photosynthesis: "No sun, No 'synthesis".  Without the sun, photosynthesis could not occur.

Plants are also a very big part because it occurs in them so they can eat. Also, animals who eat these plants (consumers) get their energy from these same sugars made through photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis is pretty cool once you get to see all the information about it.
